We prefer that you have experience as a plant manager.   Need to demonstrate the ability to run a plant effectively. Show ability to manage people and accounts.. Growing privately-held regional construction company with over 100 multi-state locations is seeking a “hands-on” Aggregate Manager for their IA/WI pits & quarries.  If you enjoy a fast-paced, challenging team environment, this could be the position for you.  You would be responsible for the development, management & production of all aggregate materials from 22 mining locations with twelve crews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all production activities by company employees as well as outside contract crews in order to maximize output of quality aggregates in a cost efficient manner
• Be a leader in fostering company philosophy of safety as core value; ensure effective implementation of safety programs and compliance with OSHA & MSHA regulations
• Interact with department heads at corporate office to ensure proper reporting of payroll hours, staffing changes, crew & equipment movements, production tonnages, mechanical breakdowns and quality issues
• Maintain fleet of aggregate equipment in optimal condition in a cost effective manner to support maximum quality production
• Monitor and maintain acceptable product quality
• Operate plants within permitted environmental parameters
• Schedule hours of production/load-out and coordinate maintenance tasks to ensure safety, quality and environmental compliance
• Assess training needs of personnel and ensure proper training is completed in a timely manner

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience as Quarry manager or relevant supervisory experience in aggregate production field
• Thorough understanding of OSHA & MSHA rules & regulations
• 5+ years of Quality Control experience
• High level of integrity & discretion
• Excellent communication (written & oral) skills as well as good judgment skills

·        Ability to handle a variety of assignments simultaneously

·        Must be comfortable with handling computer reporting and email

·        Understanding of basic mechanics of heavy equipment

·        Positive & proactive leader with demonstrated ability to take initiative

·        Detail & process oriented with strong problem resolution skills
