Sub-Zero, a Wisconsin based company built a 614,000 square foot manufacturing facility in the SW quadrant in Cedar Rapids Iowa. This facility will be 1 of 3 manufacturing facilities in the US for Sub-Zero. Ground breaking ceremony was held on August of 2023 and the facility is set to be completed by the end of 2024. Concrete portion of the project was performed by the Absolute group. The slab on grade was specified to have structural fibers integrated into the concrete slab instead of using rebar for reinforcement. This helps eliminate cracking and curling of the floor. This floor slab were early morning pours which means the work started at 4:00 am most days to ensure the project stayed on schedule with 10-12 trucks daily on average.
